And how do you find what it is you were made for?

Lots of flowing streams to pursue and then no streams
A desert
because you keep trying
To capture
the entire ocean in your tiny cup
And you want it all so bad
To bathe in her waters
To hold onto her tightly
So that you have the answers you seek once and for all
In your tiny cup
Struck by her grandeur, you spend time watching her waves from the shore
Cup in hand
Getting lost in the sirens of her waves
of wanting it all, all over again
Knowing you cannot
Have it all
You stand up, cup in hand, determined to capture her
But you fail, and she smiles at your hubris
Go out then and find the sweet spring instead
The stream
you feel the most confident and excited
To swim in
Trust.
Jump.
Maybe that stream carries you
into the ebb and flowing river
that will gently deliver you into the arms of the ocean
No cup in sight
Just arms wide open
Hugging her tight
Trust your partnership with that stream
You can’t fit the ocean in a cup so why do you keep trying
To be a part of something you already are.
